In this last week we have travelled across the world, from Colombia in the South American continent to Kazakhstan, Cyprus and Afghanistan in Eurasia, and to the African countries of Madagascar, Angola and Ghana. Connecting with ancient cities and kingdoms, threatened landscapes and biodiversity, and with the resilient communities who have grown and exported Colombian coffee to the wider world for generations.
During our travels we are acknowledging the global fight against Covid-19. As of today, the total number of confirmed cases in the 36 countries visited is 434,259 (UN World Health Organisation). All but 2 countries have reported cases, and all but 5 at least 1 death. 19,573 people are known to have died in these countries to date, although even a brief review of the statistics suggests real numbers are distorted due to differential access to testing.
