Find a few minutes in your day to explore the world, where each destination on the map introduces a fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Site. Transport yourself beyond the confines of your home to ‘visit’ people and places across the global community. Click the active link from each place name. My particular favourites this week are the Ennedi Massif, Galapagos Islands and Lope Okanda.
Take a little time to reflect on the global fight against Covid-19. As of today, the total number of confirmed cases in the 64 countries visited is 1,742,187 (UN World Health Organisation). All but 2 of these countries have reported cases, and all but 6 at least 1 death. 124,096 people are known to have died in these countries ‘visited’ to date, although even a brief review of the statistics suggests real numbers are distorted due to differential access to testing. Globally more than 6.3 million cases have been reported worldwide, with 383,262 deaths. Behind each of these numbers are human lives lost and changed forever.
