Ghosts of Haslar History Trail

Welcome to the Ghosts of Haslar History Trail

Did you know there used to be a naval hospital at Haslar which supplied medical doctors for ships that travelled across the world during the C18th and C19th? And that often these doctors collected artefacts from people and places they visited to bring back for study at a museum in Haslar? This museum was so famous that Charles Dickens came to have a look!

We have hidden 5 stories about Haslar’s past along a 2-mile walk through Gosport’s waterfront history. Follow our map to find our QR codes, and when you find one, scan it to reveal a story. This trail has been co-created by 6 students at Gosport and Fareham Multi-Academy Trust with The Earth Museum.
