Use our menu of creative heritage learning opportunities to help create a curriculum-linked educational itinerary, supported by pre-visit and post visit activities. Developed by the Isle of Wight Museums and Schools programme, a collaboration of 11 nationally accredited museums working with wider heritage partners.
The Isle of Wight is a uniquely special place for educational visits, a wonderful learning playground. As an internationally renowned UNESCO Biosphere, the Island has a rich mix of cultural and natural history, surviving in the landscape and museum collections, all within a compact geographical area framed by the sea. This heritage supports engaging storytelling for all ages, providing opportunities for a vast range of fun and healthy learning activities outside the classroom in a stunning environment.

Each theme includes suggested:
- Pre-Visit activities to support learner engagement with Island histories in the classroom prior to a visit
- Visit suggestions providing a range of museum, heritage and wider activities relevant to the theme
- Post-Visit activities providing follow up learning and consolidation in the classroom, with creative outputs for sharing with the wider school and parent/ carer community
